Michał Jakubczyk, PhD (dr habil.) works in the Decision Analysis and Support Unit in SGH Warsaw School of Economics. He has a background in economics and mathematics (University of Warsaw). He spent a year at the Center for Operations Research and Econometrics, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium (Marie-Curie Scholarship) and a semester at the Tippie College of Business, University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, USA (Fulbright Senior Award), and he also has had a short stays at the University of York, UK, University of Glasgow, UK, and University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy. Michał's research interest focus on studying preferences for health (preferences between different aspects of health, but also willingness to pay for health), especially in the context of imprecision of preferences. He has published numerous papers in this area and in health economics and decision theory and support in general (see http://www.michaljakubczyk.pl. Michał is a member of the EuroQol Group and the International Academy of Health Preference Research (IAHPR). He had a pleasure of leading the victiorious team in the worldwide predictive modelling competition in health preference research organised by IAHPR (http://iahpr.org/eq-dce-competition/). Michał is an appreciated lecturer, teaching decision analysis courses in undergraduate, graduate, and MBA levels, and also providing courses for various institutions (e.g. National Health Fund, Ministry of Health, Agency for Health Technology Assessment and the Tariff System, private business). He co-manages the MBA programme offered jointly by SGH and the Medical University of Warsaw.
